Appris were delighted to hear that five our of seven shortlisted apprentices for Apprentice of the Year Award, were from Appris member companies. Well done to the overall winner and all those shortlisted.
Apprentice of the Year Award
Winner:
Bethany Cousins, The University of Sheffield Advanced Manufacturing Research Centre (AMRC)
Bethany had a key role in the success of a project between Boeing and the AMRC on methods of manufacturing geared components. Outside of her day-to-day work, Bethany is said to be a true ambassador for the AMRC and a role model for any young engineer, especially young female engineers, and she always volunteers her time to help the AMRC in STEM events and promotional activities.
