Our Level 4 Higher National Certificate (HNC) programme has been oversubscribed since 2015
The majority of apprentices progress from an Level 3 apprenticeship with Appris to HNC Level 4 classes.
This HNC course is designed to provide the knowledge and understanding of how advanced and innovative engineering underpins the electrical and electronic industries.
Candidates applying for this course will need a relevant Level 3 qualification, which would usually be a BTEC National in Engineering or equivalent. Mature learners may present a more varied profile of previous achievement that may include substantial work experience within the engineering environment.
Over two years, learners will complete the following units:
- Engineering Design
- Engineering Maths
- Engineering Science
- Engineering Project
- Electrical and Electronic Principles
- PLC’s
- Digital Principles
- Electrical Machines
The subject areas are assessed in a variety of ways including assignments, timed assessments and coursework.
Duration: Starting each September, attendance is 1 day per week over a two year academic timetable.
Cost: £7300 + VAT
